Antonio Socci, who wrote the book that inspired a thousand Amazon review revisions, “The Secret of Benedict XVI: Why He Is Still Pope”, changed against the author and translator’s objections by the English publisher, Angelico Press to “…Is He Still Pope?”, tweeted this for the great feast of Sts. Peter and Paul yesterday:
“May God save him unto prolonged health, although he is elderly, and protect him from the hatred of the powers of this world.”
Well said, and well played, one would say. BUT, you gotta see the number one reply. I don’t have any idea about who this Andrea Orlandini fellow is, but the ragazzo has the skillz with the highlighter/magic marker function.
It’s iconographically perfect in every way. The more you study it, the better it gets. Some art historian should write his doctoral thesis on this image. It’s far more legit than 99% of what passes for “art history” today.
