As the Freemasonic grand plan continues to unfold before our very eyes, I find it hard to make a “rah-rah” post for the 4th of July, because… Freemasons.
But, I do certainly hope that one and all are enjoying yummy bacon cheeseburgers, slightly burnt hotdogs, potato salad, decent beer, and most of all, good times with family and friends.
In wanting to post something edifying, and yet very American, how about The Eagles? I heard the “elevator muzak” version of this song playing in a public place on Monday night, and as the lyrics zoomed through my head, I realized that this is one of those songs that can TOTALLY be heard through the ears of faith, specifically about The Eucharist. The bridge seems to be referencing Calvary directly. Lyrics below, and if it is our voice, that is, the voice of the faithful, the lyrics are left in black, and if it the voice of Our Lord singing to His Church, the lyrics are in red. It can easily be heard as a beautiful dialogue. Enjoy.
I was standing
All alone against the world outside.
You were searching
For a place to hide.
Lost and lonely
Now You’ve given me the will to survive.
When we’re hungry, Love will keep us alive.
Don’t you worry
Sometimes you’ve just gotta let it ride.
The world is changing
Right before your eyes.
Now I’ve found You
There’s no more emptiness inside.
When we’re hungry, Love will keep us alive.
I would die for you,
Climb the highest mountain.
Baby, there’s nothing I wouldn’t do.
Now I’ve found You,
There’s no more emptiness inside.
When we’re hungry, Love will keep us alive.
I would die for you,
Climb the highest mountain.
Baby, there’s nothing I wouldn’t do.
I was standing
All alone against the world outside.
You were searching
For a place to hide.
Lost and lonely
Now You’ve given me the will to survive.
When we’re hungry, Love will keep us alive
When we’re hungry, Love will keep us alive
When we’re hungry, Love will keep us alive
